Recording Artist and Spoken Word Poet

Born in Detroit, Michigan, local Hip Hop and spoken word artist KING discovered his voice at 10 years old. Born James Triplett, legendary voices such as Nas, Mos Def, Gangstarr, and Bob Marley to name a few, influenced this current North Carolina resident. Initially combining the raw honesty of Hip Hop with the soulful styling of Gospel music, King has evolved into a prolific recording artist and performer.

In 2017, KING earned the title of Grand Champion at Artists Unleashed! Talent Show. He continues to impart his insights at various venues and events around the triad with over 13 years of writing under his belt. Albums such as “To Infinity”, “What Hasn’t Been Said”, “Heirborne”, and most recently, “The Dirty Glove” continue to inspire music appreciators to discover the royalty within their own lives.

In addition to being a prolific writer and fearless performer, King is also a voice aware of his potential.
