BRIANA LAFRAZIER

Briana LaFrazier is a poet and spoken word artist from Jacksonville, NC. She discovered the freeing aspect of poetry in the fifth grade and continues to create and perform poetry as a personal and social platform for healing and awareness.


In the spirit of artistry, Briana works in collaboration with the S.O.U.L. SOCIETY, a non-profit organization dedicated to building community relationships by focusing on uplifting youth.  The organizations offers youth mentoring services and monthly events to provide a space for the community to heal and express themselves through informal art therapy.


Briana’s passion soars on issues pertaining to domestic violence, sexual assault, and the experience of African-American’s in a contemporary society. Headlining at several conferences and wellness lectures, Briana approaches these issues with fearlessness in her artistry.  


Briana also joins forces with StandUp-SpeakOut of NC, an organization dedicated to bringing awareness to domestic violence, sexual assault and teen-dating violence. While completing a degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, this Renaissance woman is simultaneously composing a collection of poetry acting as both the author and co-editor!
